Vehbi Koc Foundation Awards
As Turkey’s first private foundation, Vehbi Koç Foundation once again inspired society with its prestigious Vehbi Koç Award, presented annually in the fields of culture, education, and health.
This year’s recipient of the 20th Vehbi Koç Award was the Association of Female Physicians Supporting Education (KAHEV). The organization was selected from three finalists recommended by a distinguished selection committee chaired by Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Vural and including Prof. Dr. Ebru Aktan Acar, Prof. Dr. Soner Yıldırım, Prof. Dr. Emine Erktin, and Prof. Dr. Yüksel Kavak.
Founded in 2018 by a group of female physicians, KAHEV aims to ensure access to quality education for children in rural areas and to provide schools with essential educational materials.
Over time, the foundation has expanded its impact by offering maintenance and renovation support to rural schools and by establishing new classrooms, laboratories, and libraries.
Today, KAHEV provides regular scholarships to over 5,000 students, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, extended special support to the children of healthcare workers who lost their lives. With more than 5,500 official members and 26,000 volunteers, the foundation continues to expand its reach and deepen its impact nationwide.
With Erol Evgin’s legendary performance and the enchanting setting of the park, the night became an unforgettable experience for the people of Turgutreis.
